The giant stainless steel gavel was created by, Andrew Scott, a foundations and sculpture professor at SCAD. It is located outside the Ohio Supreme Court building on Front St. You can see COSI in the background. This building used to be Central High School and was used for the filming of the 1984 movie Teachers.

Gavel of Steel
The giant stainless steel gavel was created by, Andrew Scott, a foundations and sculpture professor at SCAD. So, this is what happened to Central High? I was a 1949 grad, left town right afterwards and only came back for a short time to work at WTVN on E. Gay in 1959. Pay was too low so I left the state for better job, but always wondered about Central HS and my old girlfriends. Nice blog you run; keep it up.
